Hi! Lots going on in the world since we last spoke.
One reason that I took some time in between posts was because I didn’t want to have a half-baked idea.
My mentor Allie always says these great little things that make me think critically. The one that has stuck out the most so far is “are you doing this for entertainment or for a professional audience?”.
Long story short – this needs to be a professional output. I’m not meaning professional as in tone of the posts, because I am determined to keep those lighthearted. I mean professional as in I go into the steps I take, provide references, and provide the why behind the idea as well. I can tell a great story, but I want to tell it equally well to a group of both comedians AND Salesforce professionals. That’s what I’m determined to accomplish here.
So. I’m restarting what I was doing, and doing so more vigorously, as I’d like to participate in DemoJam or a similar event, in addition to being an understudy to a town crier. Again, I’m here just as much to be a member of the ecosystem as I am to make myself laugh. Meaning that there needs to be a fair bit of both context and bullshit.
I’m going to start structuring all posts with a template, so all information is delivered the same way, and the variable is going to be the topic of conversation. Dave Massey’s resources do great at that, and I’ve learned quite a bit from him, so the template is going to be the go-to method. Building it tonight.
I did like how I was using screenshots – I’m going to keep doing that.
I need regularity to posts, as that is how to maintain an audience. I also need regularity to my study sessions and the content I am studying. Therefore, to maintain continuity, I will write after I finish each little unit. Basically, I wanted to get through everything setup and app-related to get to a point I could speak well about those. I’m now at that point.
You won’t get a blog post every day, but you’ll be getting quite a few in the next week to get caught up to where I was (with intention). I haven’t yet committed the studies to the org, so I waited to do that where I could fully illustrate it to myself and anyone deranged enough to listen.
I love Salesforce and I love writing, so I need to continue this idea. It’s way too funny to not put my entire effort behind, and I needed to get to a place where I could put forth the requisite effort for that. I am now fully prepared.
Thank you for your time!
